Foundation shrubs and hedges are the frame around a house, and when they grow past the window line or crowd the siding, the whole property reads as neglected no matter how good the lawn looks. We shape shrubs to a form the plant can actually hold, opening the interior so light reaches the lower branches rather than shearing a hard shell that goes bare and woody underneath within a few seasons.

Timing is part of the service. Spring-flowering shrubs like forsythia, lilac and azalea are pruned after they bloom so you do not remove next year's flower buds; summer bloomers and most evergreens are cut in late winter or early spring. Boxwood, holly, yew and arborvitae each want a different approach, and we will tell you what a plant needs rather than running the same hedge trimmer across everything on the property.

We handle ornamental and small trees — shaping, crown cleaning, deadwood removal, sucker and water-sprout clearing, and raising the canopy for clearance over walks, drives and roof lines. Cuts are made at the branch collar so the wound seals properly instead of leaving a stub that rots inward. For large removals and anything requiring climbing or a bucket truck, we will refer you to a certified arborist rather than take work we should not.
