Two clean-ups carry a Missouri property through the year. The spring clean-up clears winter debris, matted leaves and dead growth out of the turf and beds so the lawn can green up evenly and the season starts from a clean slate. The fall clean-up strips the leaves off before they mat down, smother the crown and invite the snow mold and disease that show up the following March.

Leaf work is done properly, which means it is done more than once. A single pass in early November leaves you with a full yard again by Thanksgiving, so we schedule multiple visits through the drop for heavily treed properties on the older streets of Independence and Sugar Creek. Leaves come out of the turf, out of the beds, out of fence lines and window wells and off the hard surfaces — and then they leave on our trailer. We do not rake to the curb and call it finished.

Spring clean-ups include cutting back ornamental grasses and perennials, clearing the winter's accumulation of sticks and storm debris, re-edging beds after the freeze-thaw cycle has blurred the lines, and a first mow at the right height to wake the lawn up. It pairs naturally with a fresh mulch install and a pre-emergent application — most customers book the three together as one spring package.
