Landscape design is where a property stops being maintained and starts being designed. We walk the site with you, look at how the sun tracks across the front and back through the day, note the drainage and the soil, and lay out beds that fit the architecture of the house rather than a generic template dropped onto any lot.

Plant selection is done for this climate and this ground. Eastern Jackson County gives us heavy clay, hot humid Julys and hard winter swings, so we build with material that actually survives it — hydrangea, boxwood, spirea, viburnum, ornamental grasses, coneflower, daylily, Japanese maple and serviceberry, layered by mature height so the bed still looks right in five years and not just on install day. We plant for three-season interest so something is blooming or turning color from April through October.

Structure comes from edging and stone. Natural stone borders, paver edging and steel edge all hold a bed line permanently, and decorative rock, river stone and set boulders add weight and texture where plantings alone would look flat. We also handle low retaining and seat walls, downspout and drainage corrections, and the grading work that keeps a new bed from becoming a puddle after the first heavy rain.
